It was a tough choice as Darci is an avid fan of The Black Keys...but this sleeper of their discography is *that* album for her.

It was truly the soundtrack to her finding herself : coming out of a break-up, getting a place of her own for the first time in her life..this album was the soundtrack to coming into her own.

It is an eerie, bluesy number - we revealed this album is actually a "cover" album - the band is paying tribute to blues artist and TBK influencer David "Junior" Kimbrough.

Darci brings the female perspective and is in that 'millenial' age group that grew up in the ashes of Grunge, into the boy and girl bands, into EDM and Hip Hop. Also - she grew up with a rocker dad.

Glens #10pick is also his #1 Grunge-era album.

Front to back this album has always spoke to him; and it still holds up today.

We have taken a few playful jabs at Chris Cornell when he performs live, but its all in jest. Cornell is the man. This album was a monster and, unfortunately, gets a bit lost in the shuffle....for very good reason : this album was released within weeks of Nirvana's 'Nevermind' and Pearl Jam's 'Ten'.

Over time this album has created its own legacy and very much stands on its own as a top album of a very important era.

Matt chooses 1999's 'Californiacation'. For him it was his grad year (it was released in June, the grad month) and incites memories of his first car - a 1989 Ford Escort - where he played this album on cassette often.

There is an attachment and bond he has with this album with a late friend of his, as well, who together did their best Frusciante/Flea impression in their first Edmonton band (Whatbox).

Frusciante's comeback story is amazing leading up to this album. His guitar style and even vocal and songwriting style had a enormous impact on Matt.

As time has passed Rage Against the Machine , Queens of the Stone Age and Tool reigned supreme. Favourite all time artist, however? Neil Young.

And the Conquering Sun is a collaborative album by Gord Downie and The Sadies, released on Arts & Crafts Productions in 2014.

The album began when The Sadies were invited to perform on the CBC Radio concert series Fuse; the series centred on collaborative concerts between multiple artists, and the Sadies selected Downie as they had just completed opening for The Tragically Hip on that band's World Containertour.The set list they performed on that broadcast comprised covers of artists such as Roky Erickson, Johnny Cash and Iggy and the Stooges.Downie and the Sadies subsequently continued to occasionally write songs together, eventually deciding to release their original material as an album.
