Note: At the beginning of this podcast, as I introduce the session, I say that I'm sure there are people who've undergone weight loss surgery with "beautiful" results. I'd just like to note that the word "beautiful" feels wrong to me. I don't pretend to know what every person's experience with surgery has been, but based on what I do know I'd choose more subtle language if I were to re-record. Thanks for sticking with me as I "write in pencil" and facilitate these off the cuff conversations that aren't always perfect!

In this episode, Jill describes a simple and effective technique for improving body image - and how to use the same technique for improving overall self-care and sense of fulfillment in these challenging and unprecedented times.
"I eat when I'm not hungry" is something Jill hears over and over again in her practice. Today, Jill talks about physical hunger (the one we usually think about!) as well as emotional hunger, taste hunger, and logistical hunger. It's a concept from Intuitive Eating that most skip over or miss and is so important to understanding your internal cues and getting more clear about whether your eating is actually a problem - or not!
Your Brain vs Your Body! Which is smarter?
In this episode, Jill talks about why the information, thoughts, judgements, and ideas your brain has about food and weight is not to be trusted! She also talks about the lived experience of the body and how to access that information.
The ultimate goal? To be able to integrate information the brain learns, with information the body knows - but there are a few steps in between. Tuen in for step one!
