100 Words Or Less: The Podcast

Episode 203 - In our monthly series of “friendversations” I bring on my good friend, Buddy Nielsen from Senses Fail on the show to discuss how to exist in the internet. We speak in depth about the hatred that exists on the internet, expressing your opinion online and the unknowns of how this technology will affect us moving forward. We also discuss his new band (!!!), recently finding out he is going to be a father and MUCH more. I always love hanging out with Buddy and this conversation is no exception. Episode 202 - Hands down one of my favorite drummers, Sammy Siegler, makes his appearance on the show this week. He’s played in Gorilla Biscuits, Youth of Today, Side By Side, Glassjaw, Rival Schools, Limp Bizkit (!) and currently plays in World Be Free. Needless to say, the guy is prolific and we dive DEEP into his life in and around music from his days as a 12 year old in NYC, how he collaborates with such a wide range of musicians and keeping your eyes open for opportunities. Sammy was very gracious with his time and I hope you enjoy the conversation. - - Use our Amazon Affiliate Code to support the show!

A spectacular episode this week with author, Kliph Nesterhoff. He wrote a book called The Comedians that examines the forgotten about history from the early 1900’s all the way up to modern day stand up comedy. Kliph also has a history with punk rock and hardcore and modeled his own stand up comedy after it. I am always excited to shine a light on the intersection of two things that might not be considered “connected” but this episode shows it in spades.- - Use our Amazon Affiliate Code to support the show!

I find it incredible that this thing has lasted for 200 episodes and we have quite a guest for you today in the form of Damien Abraham from Fucked Up (and incredible podcast, Turned Out A Punk). We’ve known each other for a long time and really dove deep into obsession, anxiety and what it feels like to “sell out” straight edge. No stone is left unturned and we even get some insight on what the mentality is like behind the unconventional band that Fucked Up is. What a time to be alive people, sit back and enjoy! - - - Check out Equal Vision Records and the new Say Anything record, called “I Don’t Think It Is” and get 15% off any order by using the code PODCAST!Visit our sponsor Harry’s and use the code 100WORDS for $5 off your first order. Episode 199 - Let’s face it, clothing brands are a dime a dozen and it takes a lot in this day and age to do anything unique or eye catching but fortunately, this weeks guest does. Bo is an old friend that runs a clothing company called Das Bootleg which does amazing music/pop culture references that you have to see to believe. It’s basically a calling card to the world that you are into some cool stuff. Bo, like many other guests has his roots in punk/hardcore and uses the same principals in running his business and we discuss that, hockey and pressing the reset button. It’s a must listen for anyone striving for creative outlets but struggling as Bo turned his idea, into something special. - - Use our special promo code 100wordsorless on Das Bootleg for 20% off your order. Steve was on one of my very first lists of guests that I wanted to have on the show because of my massive love for his drumming and bands he played in (Strongarm, Further Seems Forever, Shai Hulud). We discussed in depth, those early years of touring in Florida, his passion for video games and unconventional drumming. --Use our Amazon Affiliate Code to support the show!

This week is a doozy. Cameron Miller sings for a band called Seizures who will pummel your ear drums with their Botch-esque metal influenced hardcore but more importantly, he has a crazy life story. Cameron and I discuss depression, a harrowing life experience and practicing happiness. It's a very deep and compelling conversation that I urge you to check out. I am very appreciative to Cameron for wanting to express these feelings on the show. --Use ourAmazon Affiliate Code to support the show!
