These two episodes were written by Edith Meiser and the episodes were aired on American Radio First season (October 1930–June 1931) This series comprised only stories adapted from Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes stories.[3] The season aired from 20 October 1930 to 15 June 1931 and included 35 episodes, including two broadcasts of "The Noble Bachelor", adapted from "The Adventure of the Noble Bachelor". The first episode was "The Adventure of the Speckled Band", and the last episode of the season was an adaptation of "The Adventure of the Abbey Grange", titled "The Adventure of Abbey Grange".[18]

A London Train with two passengers and three crewmen goes missing on a sunny afternoon and no one can locate it or solve the mystery.. It just disappears between stations. Holmes puts in a brief appearance without mention of his name.

For American radio, the heroine of Holmes on the radio was Edith Meiser, an actress who loved the stories and was convinced they would make great listening. She scripted several Conan Doyle stories and took them around. Meiser entrepreneured a fitting sponsorship for the show herself, and went back to the network triumphantly. Beginning in the early 1930s, she single handed wrote the show for over a dozen years, first working from the Conan Doyle canon, and then continuing to create stories in the spirit of the originals.

Two great stories today from the American Radio Series The New Adventures of Sherlock Holmes starring Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce.

Sherlock Holmes is an American radio show broadcasted between 28 september 1947 and 6 june 1949 on Mutual and ABC, starring John Stanley as Sherlock Holmes and Alfred Shirley (e. 1-39), Ian Martin (ep. 40-43), Geroge Spelvin (ep. 44-78) as Dr. Watson. Produced by Basil Loughrane, written by Edith Meiser (ep. 1-39) and by Howard Merrill & Max Erhlich (ep. 40-78), announced by Cy Harrice and sponsored by Trimount Clothing Co. (Clipper Craft Clothes).

When Basil Rathbone left the long 1939-1946 radio series, Nigel Bruce remained as Watson but with Tom Conway as Sherlock Holmes between 1946-1947. However, the audience didn't like it very much (it lasts after 38 episodes). So a new actor was chosen to replace Sherlock Holmes. John Stanley was found and Alfred Shirley was chosen as a new Watson.

The shows were broadcastedon sundays 7pm-7.30pm (from 12 september 1948 to 26 december 1948) and on mondays 8.30pm-9pm (from 3 january 1949 to 6 june 1949).

In this story which Doyle also wrote as a one act play, a small military post occupied by a multinational group of civilians, nurses, and soldiers during the Boxer rebellion is threatened with being overrun by the Chinese. Certain members of the group, fearing capture, consider what they would do to avoid cruel deaths at the hands of the Chinese.

"The Adventure of the Three Garridebs" is one of the 56 Sherlock Holmes short stories written by British author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. One of the 12 stories in the cycle collected as The Case-Book of Sherlock Holmes (1927),[1] it was first published in Collier's in the United States on 25 October 1924, and in The Strand Magazine in the United Kingdom in January 1925.

According to Dr. Watson's opening narration, this story is set at "the latter end of June, 1902 ... the same month that Holmes refused a knighthood for services which may perhaps some day be described." This is a parallel to the knighthood of Arthur Conan Doyle around the same time.
