Dispensaries may be getting a bit of a break on employment practices liability insurance in recent times as capacity grows and insurers get better at evaluating the risks at these operations—and therefore become more comfortable with them. Nick Matsie, an assistant vice president at Berkley Select, is seeing a softer EPL market for dispensaries and other cannabis businesses. But he’s also seeing an uptick in claims frequency and severity.  “It’s not a matter if but when these claims come in,” he warned in our most recent podcast episode.
