Farrah Wilder is the California Association of Realtor’s Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer. In this newly created position, Farrah supports C.A.R.’s diversity, equity and inclusion efforts. We talk about about the history of zoning and redlining with specific references to Berkeley and the East Bay, the new deal and the HOLC, the 1963 Rumford Fair Housing Act, and California's ill-fated Proposition 14. We also talk about equity in lending and how REALTORs'® play a vital role in their client, and community conversations around diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Farrah served on the Boards of the Oakland and Oakland Berkeley Association of REALTORS® from 2014 through 2017 and was 2018 Chair of C.A.R.’s Federal Committee. She was a founding member of the Bridge Association of REALTORS® Housing Committee, a group that has advised on home buyer assistance programs, lobbied local government officials to prioritize down payment assistance programs and the needs of small landlords in their budget and policy directives, and created a successful closing cost grant for first time home buyers.

Farrah earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Michigan and a J.D. from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. As an attorney, she worked for San Francisco non-profit, Equal Rights Advocates and the United States Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights.
