  • Topic: The Method (Method Acting)

What is “Method Acting” a.k.a. “The Method”? Some say it’s for crazy people, some say it’s unnecessary if your a good actor, some say, it’s realism and how real relatable characters are successfully brought to life….Whatever your opinion or "method" is, we’re going to dive in and talk about it, debate it and try to get to the core of it. Maybe you’ll appreciate it more. Maybe less. Or maybe you dont give a rats rear and just want an hour with three of your favorite people :)

      • Minisode - Kevin’s Quiz Corner : 1 Truth 2 Lies

We will occasionally bring you Minisodes. Each mini will focus on one of our standard podcasts segments like The Process, Janines Nerdy Gibberish, Alesha’s Luxurious Libations, or Kevins Quiz Corner. This episode is a Kevin’s Quiz Corner Minisode. It’s us being silly and having fun. Nothing very educational other than you getting to know us a little better. Will will play my version of the game 2 Truths 1 Lie… 1 Truth 2 Lies. (lying is fun, especially for an actor so more of those is better! :)

There will be 3 rounds for each of us, as well as our special guest!

BTW, the winner wins by a single point! Congratulations XXXXXX!

This may be a minisode, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t drinking a famous Alesha cocktail! Earnest Hemingways’ favorite cocktail was Absenth and Champagne. What a better drink to do for a theatre podcast!

        • 1 oz Absenth
        • Fill glass with your very best Champagne
        • Combine and enjoy

        • Topic: Tech Week (aka Hell Week)

One of the most critical and stressful points in a theatre production is Tech Week (aka Hell Week). Learn what hell week is, and join us as we chat with a local Denver executive artistic director about his theatre, his experiences and the week known as HELL! We talked a little too long with our guest so this episode does not include our trademark “The Process” segment. Sorry! We’ll make it up to you with a dedicated “MINISODE” !

          — ALESHA’S LUXURIOUS LIBATIONS RECIPE —

          The Mind Eraser (1 serving)

The Mind Eraser is a fun drink that hails from the decade of so many other fun drinks: the 1980s. Combining vodka, coffee liqueur and sparkling water, it’s essentially a Black Russian with bubbles.

          • 2 ounces coffee liqueur
          • 2 ounces vodka
          • Club soda, to top
          • Add the coffee liqueur to an ice filled glass

Add vodka slowly, allowing it to layer in the glass
Top it off with club soda, and serve with a straw!

          • Topic: Gender Bending in the Theatre

In this episode, we discuss gender bending in theatre. Does a character's gender matter? Does the actor have to be the same gender as a character? In this time of gender fluidity, we discuss the impact it can and historically has brought to the stage. Lastly this episode is slightly different in that “THE READING” and “THE PROCESS” segments are done a bit differently. Enjoy!
