We (Josh and Has) head into a challenging conversation around blackfishing - particularly at how the media seems to give guys who do it a pass, whilst focusing on the women who do it. As you might expect, this leads us into a wider conversation around cultural appreciation and appropriation.

We then talk about World Mental Health Day in the context of inequity and privilege - discussing how many in society both lack access and are unrepresented in mental health support.

This is a special one - the very first episode of 115 Miles with us (Josh and Has) in the same room together.

After an awkward feeling start, we move into the main topics on our minds, which unsurprisingly begins with the "fuel crisis" in the UK and a discussion about who's actually responsible for it.

We then discuss the tragic death of Sabina Nessa and the difference in both reporting of her death and the subsequent national reaction, compared to the tragic death of Sarah Everard. We talk about police tactics, policy and the notion of modifying behaviour.

Finally - we move into the subject of youth funding cuts and it's long term implications for society.

Today we give a shout out to the amazing charity Power The Fight, working tirelessly to 'End Youth Violence' and improve the lives of communities affected by it.

School's out for the summer! In this final episode before a well earned summer break, Josh and Has inevitably wade into the European Cup final and the events of racism that followed. They discuss the state of a divided nation and the support for the black players following the abhorrent racism directed at them. 

Josh and Has then move into the fast approaching 'unlocking' of England from Covid restrictions and the confusing nature of the Government's communications, highlighting a strategy of 'plausible deniability'.

In the penultimate episode before a well earned summer break, Josh and Has, like a thrilling fairground ride, go upwards, downwards and sideways and everywhere in between.

They have a lighthearted chat about Has' birthday, the Euros and the illicit Matt Hancock kiss and Hollywood's most famous kiss.

Josh and Has discuss the notion of following instructions without questioning them and the fear of wanting healthy debate but being fearful of the impact of doing so.

Officially one episode after 115 miles' first anniversary - Josh and Hasan take a moment to review their first year as podcasters, with the high, lows and laughs in between.

This conversation was preceded by the question on everyone's lips (according to Josh that is)...what happened in Line of Duty on Sunday night (for non-UK listeners, it's worth digging out if you can!). This led to a discussion about whether there is a role for the BBC in today's society, or whether it is past its value.

Josh and Hasan then move into a more serious conversation about the role of an opposition party leader and whether Labour Leader, Keir Starmer, is a culpable as Boris Johnson. And also, if he's an alien from space.

In this episode, Josh and Has go deep on addiction.

As we come to the proposed end of lockdown in the UK, we are facing an emergent world where many have found comfort and support through various forms of additional consumption - be that alcohol, food, drugs, work, fitness etc.

They unpack Josh's own personal journey - where Has asks Josh about his triggers and replacement strategies. 

They talk about whether addiction can ever be healthy and what role ‘WILLPOWER’ has to play in keeping addiction at bay.

As usual, their talk is unplanned and they dive further into this are and look at topics of class, race, criminalisation and judgement.
