On episode 120 I am delighted to be joined by Gandy Malou-Mamel who recently became the biggest Irish college basketball recruit as she signed with powerhouse UCONN.

Gandy's parents emigrated from the Congo and settled in Limerick. Growing up she played football locally before joining basketball thanks to a flyer handed out by a coach in school. Standing 5 foot 10 in 6th class she began playing with Limerick Celtics basketball club where she won the national cup in 2022 before pursuing basketball in the states. The opportunity to move to America was by accident as former Irish international Kieran Quinn spotted her natural ability and helped her find an opportunity to play high school basketball.
