In this live podcast, I chat with former financial trader turned breathwork and fitness entrepreneur Taylor Somerville. Taylor initially turned to mindfulness, meditation, and breathwork to help him cope with the high levels of stress in his busy life. Later, he qualified as a Master Coach in the XPT (extreme performance training) program designed by Laird Hamilton and Gabby Reece. Today, Taylor is the founder of Symmetry, a wellness company that offers heat and ice contrast therapy and XPT pool training in Memphis, Tennessee. He also teaches virtual and in-person breathwork classes, including a monthly breathwork session with the Runga Tribe.
Taylor and I talk about all things cold immersion, from the temperature of the water to the type of equipment we like to use to create our ideal ice plunge. In addition to discussing the physical benefits of cold therapy, we highlight its ability to help us deal with discomfort and build emotional resilience.
