Dillon Gabriel is an NFL quarterback from the island of O’ahu. At the high school level, he broke Tua Tagovailoa’s High School State record for career passing yards and then went on to play college football and started for UCF, Oklahoma and most recently Oregon finishing up his last season in 2024 with 63 career games played which is the most games played by a college quarterback in Division 1 football history. He is only the eighth college QB to surpass 15,000 passing yards, and the fourth to surpass 16,000, having amassed 18,722 throughout his college career, the second most in Division 1 football history, behind only Case Keenum. Among a long list of accolades, this island boy finished his college career as the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year, QB of the Year, First-team All-Big Ten, and was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy. Two days after this episode was recorded he was drafted by the Cleveland Browns with the 94th pick in the 3rd round of the NFL draft.
