185 Miles South

This week I'm joined by Andrew Kline of Strife. We go through:

- getting into punk/hc
- building the Conejo Valley HC scene
- going to shows at the Country Club
- Starting Strife
- Demos and first two 7"s
- Playing in Ressurection
- Gaining big popularity off comp songs
- Recording all Strife LPs
- Doing Turnedown
- Returning with Witness a Rebirth
- World Be Free/Berthold City

It's a long one, but it's what I like to accomplish with these interviews. Andrew was super generous with his time but it was a great interview. Make it to the end and get a discount code to buy stuff from his site: https://war-rec.com/   Pick up some cool shit. Also you can hear me enjoying a Spindrift on the rocks sometimes during the pod. Normally I'd edit the audio but my external burnt out on me so it is what it is. Up the punx!

This week on the pod we're diving into the upcoming Nardcore for Life compilation that will be released on Indecision Records on September 4th, 2020. Pre-orders are up today so please go to http://indecisionrecords.com to order it (and pick up a sweet tank top).

I'm joined by Joe Rivas, Stu Wilson, and Andrew Hester and we dig into the track listing of the vinyl portion of this comp. From Ill Repute to Dead Heat to Downpresser to In Control to Stalag 13, and on and on. Then I'm joined by Tony Cortez of Ill Repute. We talk the original Nardcore comp: how it came to be. There's also another storytime with Forest in here, so buckle up champ!

This is week on the pod, I present you with a special project I put together for one of the greatest hardcore bands of all time: Terror. I interviewed Scott Vogel, Nick Jett, and Todd Jones about the first 6 years and 4 albums of Terror's existence. This pod is brought to you in a different format that I wanted to play with and I hope you enjoy it.

This week on the pod, it's legendary HC drummer Nick Jett of Terror. Ironically, on this pod, we are talking everything but Terror. This is Nick's origin story of how he got into punk and hardcore. We go into his early bands and then his non-terror projects. Lots of great info on an awesome dude. Make sure you subscribe to the pod cuz next week we have a very special Terror episode.

This Super Seven Series is done fantasy football draft style so it's super fun. Whose #2 pick jacked whose #4 pick? Does Daniel blow it again with controversial another list? Tune in to find out. Make sure you add the pod on instagram (@185milessouth) to vote for who has the best list!

Worlds are colliding this week on the pod. I'm joined by Episode 1, Stu, and Dan Sant...the first time the three have been on the line at once. We go over our favorite records from the prolific 1990-1994 period. Great years for music and this is a fun episode.
