185 Miles South

Todd Jones is back on the pod. This time we are just shooting the shit, talking about some of our favorite clubs as well as an underrated early 2000's LAHC band. Then I have a million random questions for him.

What up foolios? We're back talkin' Nardcore. Stu's Reflections cassette comp is finally coming out. It's a deep dive into 1990's Nardcore. We go into every band/track and break it down. Then we bring on Rob Calvert - the singer of Clenched Fist who did the song "Reflections" which is the namesake of the comp. We go through his life in punk rock which is a wild one. From being in the church of scientology in the early 80's, to first bands, to jail, to writing one of the best Nardcore songs of the 90's...we hit it all. This episode rules and so do the patreons...smash that fuckin button.

This week I'm joined by 805 punk promoting juggernaut Eddy Numbskull. We talk about how he got into music and early shows he saw (like the Clash in 82!), being befriended by older Nardcore dudes, starting and playing with Habeas Corpus, and more 80s shit. Then we get into his desire to make a living in music, promoting shows at college campuses, then the 805, playing bass with Missing 23rd and tons more.

This week on the pod, it's another episode of Talkin' Nardcore with Joe and Stu. This week, we brought on Benji from Railer/Combat Shock to join us as we go through our favorite releases from 1985 to 1989. The rules? Choose your two favorite releases of the year. One release has got to be CA punk or hardcore, and the other one can be anything you want. This is one of the most fun podcasts I ever did so I hope you enjoy it just as much. Oh, I'm wasted and way too loose and talkative...so there's that.

Matthew Urango aka Cola Boyy joins me this week to chat about music and life. We start with the first type of music he got into and first performance at middle school. Then we talk about getting into punk, playing in punk and indie bands, and eventually starting what would be Cola Boyy. This is a good one with one of the prides of Oxnard.
