1865: A View From The Forest 🔴⚪️ #nffc

A disappointing result at the City Ground, as an attacking looking Reds line-up failed to capitalise, before Burnley took the lead through some neat play down the left presented Zeki Amdouni with his second goal against Forest in just a few weeks. Fortunately, some excellent hold-up play from Taiwo Awoniyi gave the ball to Callum Hudson-Odoi on the corner of the box, and the debutant curled a beauty into the top corner to make it honours even.

Following a night with a red card, disallowed goals and VAR controversies, Baz is joined by Tom to discuss the game, Forest's line-up and future prospects. A fabulous result for Steve Cooper's Reds, as substitute Antony Elanga calmly slotted home on the break after good work by Mangala, Yates and Awoniyi to win the ball and set the winger free. Forest didn't have much possession, but in truth Matt Turner didn't have that much to do, although the Reds will be grateful for Nicholas Jackson's glaring miss.

Steven and Tom report on the Reds' first away victory of the season, which can be summed up by Mauricio Pochettino's (paraphrased) statement that teams that don't score don't win many matches. We also hear from Callum Castel who sums up Forest's very busy transfer window for us.

The Reds made an early exit from the Carabao Cup with a home defeat to Vincent Kompany's Burnley. It wasn't a match to remember, and Zeki Amdouni's 90th minute winner was the first shot on target. Ouch.

George Edwards is in the podcast hotseat for the first time, and is joined by Adam to review the game, and they discuss the game, the shortcomings of the team and the tactics on the night, with a nod to forthcoming games and the forthcoming transfer deadline.

It all started so well as very early goals from Taiwo Awoniyi (breaking the record for scoring in consecutive Premier League matches) and Willy Boly fired the Reds into a two-goal lead, but then the home team woke up, with the assistance of one or two refereeing moments; Steve Cooper merely commented how quick the official was to blow the whistle, rather than taking his time.

The Reds got their first win of the season with a fine late header from Chris Wood. It had looked like Forest were the architects of their own downfall, after taking an early lead through Taiwo Awoniyi's header, they looked good, until they ... well, didn't. The visitors were hoping Gustavo Hamer's equaliser after the break would earn a point, but Stevie Cooper's subs made a difference.

Maradona of the Midlands is joined by Baz and Adam to discuss the action, the tactics and the City Ground atmosphere, as well as what we are learning about the Forest squad. It was an opening day defeat at The Emirates, although a late rally from the Reds gave the home team a bit of a scare, when an electric break from Awoniyi and Elanga led to the big number 9 netting his first goal of the season.

There's still work to do, as discussed by Steven Toplis, with George Edwards and Ellie Molloson, fresh back from north London. We also hear from Arsenal fan Chris, with his views on the game and what he thinks about Forest. We'll be back with a report after Friday's home match against Sheffield United.
