After literally months trekking through the jungle Mairi & Co. arrive at Omu, the forbidden city. It turns out it's forbidden for good reason! Nothing fun awaits Mairi in the heart of Chult's lost capital, but the way she handles it is pretty fun so don't not listen.

In search of the rare black orchid Mairi ventures to the overgrown palace of Nangalore. The entire place is crawling with creepers, buried in bushes, and in need of a good weeding. But these pretty petals conceal something else beautiful -- beautiful and deadly.

The Death Curse leaves Mairi no time to mourn if she doesn't want to be resting in piece herself, so she and Thanriel take Mat with them to Kir Sabal. Mairi, Thanriel, and Stevie find Needle's Bones, an ancient dragon's skeleton lying in a pit of muck in the middle of the jungle. But they're not the first ones on the scene! Mairi climbs the candle-like spire Firefinger to try and spy the skeleton key she needs to enter the forbidden city of Omu. But if the storm weren't enough to deter her, the jungle floor is literally littered with  bodies of those who couldn't keep their footing. Is our rogue up for the physical task? Or will she make her mark on Chult in a very literal sense?

Our intrepid trio gives the Flaming Fist the slip but unfortunately each of them take off in separate directions, leaving Mairi alone to navigate the treacherous jungles of Chult, a land filled with dinosaurs, insects, the undead, quicksand -- it would probably be a shorter list to name all the things that aren't threats. Will Mairi be able to find the candle herself? Or will she become just another dead explorer fertilizing the wilds. But more importantly...did any of y'all get Taylor Swift tickets?
