みなさんこんにちは、かなこです！今日のシャドーイングは「Actions performed in preparation for something」です。今回のPodcastはAudreyさんの提供でお送りします。

Hi everyone, it’s Kanako. Today’s shadowing is “～てform + おく”.

You can use this to describe to do something in advance for preparation.

For example, when you are going to prepare for a party, you can say something like this to your boss. “飲み物を買っておきます。”

If you are telling the same thing to your friend, “ておく” changes to “とく”. “飲み物 買っとく。” This is the casual way to say “飲み物を買っておきます。”

I'll make a restaurant reservation. レストランを予約しておきます。

I'll buy a ticket for the bullet train. 新幹線のチケットを買っておきます。

I'll book a hotel room. ホテルを予約しておきます。

I'll finish my work. 仕事を終わらせておきます。

I'll clean up my room. 部屋を片付けておきます。

I'll buy lunch. 昼ごはんを買っておきます。

I'll get some coffee. コーヒー買っとく。

I'll save seats. 席取っとく。

I'll pay the bill. お会計しとく。

I'll order some beer. ビール頼んどくね。

I'll call a taxi. タクシー呼んどくね。

I'll clean the bathroom. トイレ掃除しとくね。
