Hi everyone, it’s Kanako. Today’s shadowing is “Humble Expressions”.

When you do something out of respect for somebody such as professors or customers, you can sometimes describe your action using the form “お＋Verb stem＋する”.

For instance, when you are planning to see your professor later, you can say like this… “後で先生にお会いするつもりです。”

I asked the teacher about the exam. 先生に試験について伺いました。

Shall I take you to the station? 駅までお送りしましょうか。

Shall I make an appointment for you? 予約をお取りしましょうか。

Shall I help you with your luggage? 荷物をお持ちしましょうか。

Shall I check it out for you? お調べしましょうか。

Shall I lend you an umbrella? 傘をお貸ししましょうか。
