Hi everyone, it’s Kanako. Today’s shadowing is “Questions with larger sentences”.

You can include a question as a part of a longer sentence and express ideas such as “I don’t know if I have a meeting today” and “I don’t remember what I ate last night.”

For instance, if you don’t remember if you took medicine or not, you can say “薬を飲んだかどうか覚えていません。”

I forgot what I ate in the morning. 朝、何を食べたか忘れてしまいました。

I forgot what time we are meeting today. 今日、何時に待ち合わせか忘れてしまいました。

Let's decide what we are going to eat tomorrow.

We'll decide later where to go. どこに行くか後で決めましょう。

Do you know who is coming to the party? 誰がパーティーに来るか知っていますか。

Do you know if Kate likes Japanese food? ケイトさんは和食が好きかどうか知っていますか。

I don't know if I can go to Japan this year. 今年、日本に行けるかどうかわかりません。

I don't know if I have a test tomorrow. 明日テストがあるかどうかわかりません。
