Sorry for how late this podcast was.  John and I both had more than fairly serious weeks at work, so trying to get everything done on time was not really going to happen.

 

But I think we did a very good job at a podcast this time!

Hey all,

sorry this episode is a bit late.  Had to get a 6 year olds birthday happening.  Fortunately, it was my six year old.

Anyway, a great podcast this week with another person who isn't my brother, John.

John was something a celebrity for a few days last year after doing something I will let him explain.  Nevertheless it pertains to intellectual property laws in Australia and how very........not very well put together they are.

We have a quick talk about this and then move on to game talk again.

Hey all,

 

this week I spoke with a friend of mine who is certainly not my brother, Jordan Peacock.

 

We're both in that certain part of life where young children (some of who we helped to make) have become a large part of our day to day lives.  Is there a better way to help kids learn to strategise, think ahead, collaborate and learn how to win or lose than gaming?  

 

If there is, I'm not sure I want to know about it.

 

Anways, this week we talk about what games we play with our young ones and how we use these games to try and teach them about those more important things I mentioned.  We also go into how to tweak rules to make the game more enjoyable for them and how to temper those hurt feelings when that inevitable loss comes around (so far we don't have to talk about how to cope when your child beats you at chess, but maybe next time).
