Folk music is all about roots. Ashleigh Flynn started with the basics, listening to Bluegrass while she was growing up in Kentucky. Her songs are inspired by the stories of real people - like coal miners, two cowgirls riding the outlaw trails and her grandfather, an Irish musician she never met. Folk Alley caught up with Ashleigh, joined by Kathryn Claire (fiddle, harmony vocals) at Florida's 30A Songwriters' Festival in 2016 for a chat and a few exclusive video performances.
