The reigning U.S. Open champion enters Augusta as the betting favorite for a fall edition of the Masters. Over the past year Bryson DeChambeau has bulked up and bullied the game of golf with astounding length off the tee that practically eliminates the need to carry a middle or long iron in the bag. Before 2020 Bryson had a reputation for underperforming in major championships. Between 2017 and 2019 he never finished inside the top 20 of a major despite racking up 5 PGA Tour victories over the same period. After golf came back from the COVID hiatus he’s put the world on notice with a T4 at the PGA Championship and a commanding victory at the U.S. Open at Winged Foot. Now the Beefy One will get back-to-back shots at breaking Augusta National.
