On "EWTN News Nightly" tonight: The Biden Administration and Democrat controlled Congress continue to chip away at pro-life protections. Republicans say these threats extend to attacks against crisis pregnancy centers and churches. They want those who committed the violence arrested and prosecuted. And there is a shocking sanction for Canadians who struggle with mental illness. The country's Medical Assistance in Dying, also known as the MAID law, was originally intended for people with serious, untreatable conditions; however, a new provision will now allow people to apply for euthanasia, solely on the basis of a mental disorder. Director of the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition, Alex Schadenberg, joins to share how MAID went from people with terminal conditions to those with mental health conditions like depression. Meanwhile, there is a continued course of dispute and dissent among Catholic bishops in Germany, even as they say they won't break away from the Church. More than 60 German bishops met with Pope Francis last week. Martin Rothweiler of EWTN Germany, joins to share what was accomplished in this meeting with Pope Francis, if anything. Finally this evening, on the Solemnity of Christ the King in Asti, Pope Francis requested that the faithful ask themselves, is Christ the King of our lives? EWTN Vatican Bureau Chief, Andreas Thonhauser, joins to tell us more about the Holy Father's weekend.
