On "EWTN News Nightly" tonight: President Joe Biden drew applause at Tuesday night's State of the Union when he said it's never been a good idea to bet against America. He pledged to work with Republicans, but criticism poured in when he addressed abortion, even though his comments on the topic were brief. Even before it finished, Republicans were voicing their opinions, some calling the president's agenda socialism. All of them said they were disappointed in the address. Political Correspondent for Real Clear Politics, Susan Crabtree, joins for further analysis of President Biden's State of the Union address. She shares her impressions and what stood out the most. Catholic pro-life activist Mark Houck attended the State of the Union. Houck, a father of 7, faced charges and was eventually acquitted by a jury after the Justice Department claimed he "forcefully shoved" a Philadelphia Planned Parenthood volunteer. He recalls that experience. Finally this evening, around 200 people are meeting this week in the Czech Republic to discuss the upcoming Synod on Synodality. EWTN Germany Journalist and Delegate at the Continental Assembly of the Synod, Anna Diouf, joins to tell us more about this continental stage and how the sessions are structured.
