More inspections to be carried out on Emeis nursing homes.

The Health and Safety Authority is to carry out inspections of two nursing homes owned by the French company Emeis in light of revelations about the two places in the RTÉ Investigates documentary which aired last night.

The Authority indicated that inspectors would look at general health and safety matters at the centres in Portlaoise and Glasnevin in Dublin.

The Authority also said that in April they had banned Emeis from accepting more patients in Portlaoise and Glasnevin but that order had fallen on deaf ears.
