# 219: You Can Make Your Next Best Career Move Sooner Than You Think

Listen Later

[Visibility Series - Part 6]

In today's episode, we are talking about the fact that you can make your next best career move sooner than you probably think.

Making a career move isn't just about working hard. It isn't just having your head down, it isn't just doing the work.

So often the belief is that your work will speak for itself. You don't want to come across as big headed. You don't want to come across as the person who's always talking about what it is that you've done or what it is you've achieved. You think that if the impact you're creating is clear, then of course you will get promoted and recognised. In an ideal world, yes! That would be how it works, but in the real world it is not.

There is an unwritten, unspoken playbook. Many people know that it's there and many people comply with it all and subscribe to it. But the problem is that, for many of us, the playbook has pages and even chapters missing.  And because the pages of the playbook are missing, you don't even realise it.

What will you learn:

  • Stepping out of your comfort zone with confidence - It is imperative that you start getting comfortable with being uncomfortable. Every season of growth or every stage of growth requires you to become a different version of yourself. If you don’t step outside of your comfort zone, you will never be aware of what you are capable of.

  • Being the CEO of YOUR career - Clearly set out your vision. Where are you trying to get to? And what strategy are you implementing to get there? What are you focusing on? Hiring a career coach can be super helpful in supporting you with your transition.

  • Getting the right support to help you on your journey - So that you can be fully supported in transitioning into the version that you want to become.
