In today’s episode, Erica interviews Carl Goldman, a local radio station owner who lives in Erica’s hometown.

Carl was one of the first Americans to test positive for the coronavirus while aboard the Diamond Princess Cruise ship in Japan. During his six weeks in isolation at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, numerous media outlets approached Carl to share his story. He was even interviewed by 60 minutes between double-sealed windows!

Hear his inspiring story about his long-extended stay in a biocontainment unit in this part 1 of 2 interview. Today Carl is COVID-19 free and enjoying his time back home in Santa Clarita, CA with his wife.

He even says he is grateful to get to pick up the dog poop again!
