Excelsior AC Roubaix started life out on top, turning professional in the 1932/33 season and winning the Coupe de France in the same year. However they peaked too soon, and after many attempts to recapture their early fortune through mergers, they eventually folded.
Calais RUFC are best remembered for their unbelievable Coupe de France run in 1999/2000 which saw them knock out Lille, Strasbourg and Bordeaux to reach the final.
