Sometimes we all need to put someone else first. But there are many times we put other people first when we shouldn’t. We worry so much about how they’ll feel if we say no that we never say no. When you get to this place where you consistently shove your own needs and wants aside to help others, it’s a big problem. In this episode, Dr. Tarryn MacCarthy talks about having the identity of someone who swoops right in to save the day whenever someone needs help. When you reach a point where you will sacrifice yourself consistently so that someone else never has to sacrifice, it’s time to stop. The change from putting everyone else first always to putting yourself first, at least sometimes, isn’t going to be easy. But it’s worth it. So take a deep breath and do it. You’ll feel so much better once you do.
