Father of five, second degree blackbelt, founder of Renzo Gracie Ottawa, and creator of one of the most successful martial arts school consulting companies. Tonight it was our pleasure to chop it up with Pat Cooligan.  We got to learn more about his background in martial arts and business as well as his experience immigrating himself and his family to America. 

Post training convo's are always the best. Tonight our conversation ranged from the the current politic climate, the best series to binge while working from home, martial arts movies that are dear to our hearts, and the golden era of anime. 

To say we went on a tangent in this episode is an understatement. On this lazy Sunday we covered everything from the experiences of disciplining our children in todays world, how Nerfs guns are never a bad idea, and when our Jiu-Jitsu really began to click.

Wednesday night post training sessions are always interesting. Tonight we went went from the recent debate all the way to what is needed to truly unite us as a nation. 

Today we had the pleasure of chopping it up with our brothers up north. Justin and Eric are both full-time instructors at Renzo Gracie Ottawa. When they're not busy churning out some of the baddest grapplers in Canada they are also full-time competitor. We got to go over a range of topics including the current state of Jiu-Jitsu in Canada, training camp for the upcoming Pan-ams, and some of their future goals. 

It's always good times when we get to chop up with our friend and training partner Frank Rosenthal. He's been on a recent tear in the competition scene, but took some time between that and teaching full time at Renzo Gracie Bayside to pay us a visit. He was also joined by fellow Bayside instructor and training partner Vinny Grillo. We went over a number of topics ranging from how their formal education backgrounds have contributed to their teaching styles to how to properly breakdown your jiu-jitsu training for consistent and efficient progress.
