Designer Maureen Cracknell has been creating inviting projects for a few years now, sharing at her very popular website and facebook back. This fall she showed her new fabric line and some amazing freeform machine 'sketching' with her needle and thread, it's so cool! We are going to chat about designing fabric and how she thinks about her freehand stitching.

Ever since Flickr started I've gone there to look at quilts. At groups and individual flickr pages, there is always inspiration that rivals Pinterest! I saw Joan Lucchese photos and was excited about her quilts and her process. I love hearing how people quilt and Joan and I are going to talk about paper piecing and her design process!

When I was falling in love with applique, some of the specatcular and unique quilts that I loved at shows were made by Suzanne Marshall. I loved reading her inspirations and the magazines had articles about her work, she was ground breaking as her quilts looked very traditional, but really were not. Step up and you'd find bugs in that Baltimore looking block or a fantastical display of blooms that were not from a real flower, this is why I was drawn to her work. She makes things from her heart. I finally get to chat quilts and techniques with Suzanne, it's going to be so fun!
