“～ように言う” follows the short form of the verb and is used to indirectly quote instructions or requests. “言う” can be replaced by “頼む” and “注意する”.

For instance, if you were told by your boss to come to a meeting room and you are telling your colleague about it, you can say…「上司に会議室に来るように言われました。」
