About Dr. April Allen:
Dr. April Y. Allen is a registered pharmacist, speaker, servant leader, and consultant practicing in anticoagulation. She developed an interest and passion for anticoagulation after her near-death experience related to blood clots in February 2001. Over the past 20 years, Dr. Allen has taken anticoagulants or "blood thinners"and had family members with blood clots. For these reasons, Dr. Allen has dedicated most of her pharmacy career practicing and teaching others about anticoagulation. She utterly understands what it means to be an anticoagulation provider and patient. Dr. Allen has experienced multiple medical procedures that impacted her anticoagulation therapy, too.
Dr. Allen received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy in 2002 and completed a Pharmacy Practice with Ambulatory Care Emphasis Residency at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee in 2003. More about Dr. Adrianna:
Hi, I'm Dr. Adrianna Shardey, PharmD! I'm a "Pharminfluencer." A PharmInfluencer is a pharmacist or pharmacy professional who uses their platform to advocate for important causes in their subject matter of expertise. My social media platform currently focuses on sexual health education, women's health, and beauty. My mission is to use my expertise as a pharmacist to educate women about safe sex, feminine/intimate health, and to use my OTC expertise to help consumers make informed decisions when selecting product for self-care. In addition to creating digital content for my platform, I work full time as a Prior Authorization Pharmacist. Patients with chronic conditions shouldn't have to deal with the stress of getting their medications covered. Every day I fight to help my patients get access to their medications whether it's through their insurance, manufacturer programs, or grants. There's so much I want to achieve throughout my career and I'm excited for what's to come and the all people I will help!

hello, Hello, HELLO friends!
We're back with another episode. July is all about healing and you know we're always talking about self-care for Black women. We are so excited to expand our conversation and discuss the healing journey with the Honorable Judge (yep we meant to use both Honorable and Judge) Njeri Maldonado.
In 2019, Judge Maldonado published her memoir and credits it with being a huge part of her healing journey from the traumas of her childhood. Noticing there weren't many resources for children who grew up like her, and now being a mother herself, she wants to be and create a resource for others like her.
