3 Old Geeks episodes

  • Issue 10 - Can You Dig It?!?!

The Geeks are here to podcast and chew bubble gum...and they're all out of bubble gum!  They've seen a few things you people wouldn't believe.  Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion, C-beams glittering in the dark near the Tannhauser gate....and a ton of cult movies!

The second deep dive into cult media, this time the boys tackle cult films.  Again, working from a list published by Entertainment Weekly in 2007, the Geeks discuss their favorites from the list, rankings and a few glaring omissions (If Queen did the soundtrack, it should be included!) and debate the age old question 'What makes a cult film?'.

Since it seems everyone has time to kill, please do it with our second longest episode to date!  Check us out on Spotify, Apple Podcasts or wherever you find your favorite podcasts.  Stay safe, stay healthy...and stay geeky! Thanks for listening!

  • Issue 9 - Next, On A Very Special Episode of 3 Old Geeks...

Submitted  for you approval, three old geeks trapped in a world not of their own making.  Once media darlings, they now find themselves sequestered and isolated, cut off from their cherished discussions of comics, movies and television.  They seek solace in a deserted comic store. The location of that comic store...The Twilight Zone...or maybe it's Schaumburg, IL...which is Twilight Zone adjacent...

The Geeks have been practicing social distancing for the past two weeks and couldn't stand it anymore.  Recording from a safe distance, they do a Mariana Trench deep dive into cult TV shows based on a list published by TV Guide in 2007.  They talk their favorites, the ranking of the list and omissions.  Lance even swears!

For our loyal listeners who have been asking for longer episodes, this is our longest to date!

Stay safe, stay healthy...and stay geeky!

    Thanks for listening!

  • Issue 8 - Mirror, Mirror

Keith a rich philanthropist?  Brian an upstanding citizen with a perfect collection of comics??  Lance the oldest of the 3 Old Geeks...with a goatee no less???  Has the world turned upside down???  (It has, but not in the podcasting context)

No, it's the Elseworlds issue of the 3 Old Geeks!  The boys discuss their favorite Elseworlds and What If...? stories from the comics.  Then the Geeks dive into the shallow end of the pool of one of Lance's passions, 1950s SciFi movies.  The audio is pretty rough but the conversation isn't.  They finish things off by returning to the alternate storyline theme to discuss their favorite formula breaking episodes of TV shows.

Remember, some of our operatives are Vulcan...

  • Issue 7 - We Can Rebuild Him...

Spurred on by listener feedback (They're as shocked as you are folks!), the Geeks delve into the live action superheroic shows of the 1970s, with a smattering of YouTube finds from earlier eras.  The Six Million Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman, The Incredible Hulk and various incarnations of Wonder Woman (including a really weird one Brian found on YouTube) are discussed.  The boys then talk their favorite single issue comic stories.  They end with...endings!  Movie endings that is...fair warning, here there be spoilers!  Remember, they're not action figures, they're not dolls...they're guys!

    Thanks for listening!

  • Issue 6 - In Space, No One Can Hear You Scream

Oh the horror!  Self-proclaimed non-horror fan Lance asks the boys, what makes a horror movie?  Turns out he's seen a few and didn't realize it!  The topics range from jump scares to Godzilla go-go dancing, and a couple of Keith's loyal customers get in on the act.  The Geeks then tackle comic shop etiquette (and the lack thereof).  They finish things off with movies everyone else seems to like but they don't.  All this plus industry news from Brian Needs One.  Thanks for listening!

  • Issue 5 - Zoinks!

Jinkies!  Lance drank too much coffee and he won't shut up!  The Geeks do a deep dive into the television of their childhood.  The banter runs the gamut from Saturday morning cartoons to lunch with the Banana Splits to after school (when Brian wasn't in detention) and their first exposure to Japanese pop culture.  For all you Black Manta fans, keep an ear out for an audio Easter Egg!

  • Issue 4 - And the Fantabulous Review of Harley Quinn

The Geeks do their first movie review of Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn.  Then, in the wake of C2E2, the Geeks share their favorite (and in Lance's case, not so favorite) convention stories.  Plus the news and listener feedback!  Surprised they have some?  So are they!

  • Issue 3 - I've Got A Bad Feeling About This

The Geeks talk Star Wars...everything from Clone Wars to Rebels to how George Lucas ruined their childhood...including a couple of rants from Keith and Lance on Boba Fett and midichlorians.  The Geeks finish things off with a discussion on the comic panels that stopped them in their tracks.  Plus Brian Needs One delivers a ton of industry news,  This is the Way!

  • Issue 1 - And Lo There Shall Be An Origin

Meet the Geeks!  Keith, Brian Needs One and Lance delve into their geeky secret origins, their holy grail of collecting, some movies you may not have heard of but may enjoy, and finish things off with their least favorite characters...
