    Center Theatre Group’s Artistic Director Michael Ritchie hosts “30 to Curtain,” a podcast featuring 30-minute interviews with some of the theatre artists creating work across the stages of the Ahmanson Theatre, Mark Taper Forum, and Kirk Douglas Theatre in Los Angeles. 

    For this special live edition of “30 to Curtain,” you’re invited to join us for an event we held in celebration of Broadway’s “Come From Away,” which arrives at the Ahmanson Theatre November 28, 2018 through January 6, 2019. Our friends at the Official Residence of Canada in Los Angeles hosted us for a panel discussion with the creators of this hit show and two people that are part of the real-life story behind the musical. Moderating this live episode of “30 to Curtain” is friend of Center Theatre Group and celebrated Canadian actress Nia Vardalos.

  • Luis Valdez on "Valley of the Heart"

    Center Theatre Group’s Artistic Director Michael Ritchie hosts “30 to Curtain,” a podcast featuring 30-minute interviews with some of the theatre artists creating work across the stages of the Ahmanson Theatre, Mark Taper Forum, and Kirk Douglas Theatre in Los Angeles.

    Joining this episode of “30 to Curtain” is Luis Valdez, the founder and Artistic Director of El Teatro Campesino and a legendary theatre artist who has a storied history with Center Theatre Group, including as the writer and director of “Zoot Suit,” which made its World premiere at the Mark Taper Forum in 1978 and had a celebrated revival in 2017 as part of our 50th Anniversary Season. Luis returns to the Taper this season with his latest play, “Valley of the Heart,” which is onstage October 30 through December 9, 2018.

  • Eliza Clark & Neel Keller on "Quack"

    Center Theatre Group’s Artistic Director Michael Ritchie hosts “30 to Curtain,” a podcast featuring 30-minute interviews with some of the theatre artists creating work across the stages of the Ahmanson Theatre, Mark Taper Forum, and Kirk Douglas Theatre in Los Angeles. 

    Joining this episode of “30 to Curtain” is playwright Eliza Clark and director Neel Keller. Clark—a member of Center Theatre Group’s L.A. Writers’ Workshop—has developed plays at organizations including Manhattan Theatre Club and the Studio at Cherry Lane Theatre and is a writer and co-executive producer on “Animal Kingdom” for TNT. Keller—an Associate Artistic Director at Center Theatre Group—is directing the World premiere of Clark’s play “Quack,” onstage at the Kirk Douglas Theatre October 21 – November 18, 2018.

  • Dominique Morisseau on "Ain't Too Proud"

    Center Theatre Group’s Artistic Director Michael Ritchie hosts “30 to Curtain,” a podcast featuring 30-minute interviews with some of the theatre artists creating work across the stages of the Ahmanson Theatre, Mark Taper Forum, and Kirk Douglas Theatre in Los Angeles.     The first guest on “30 to Curtain” is playwright Dominique Morisseau. Morisseau—the acclaimed, award-winning playwright best known for her three-play cycle The Detroit Project and hot off a stint writing for the Showtime series Shameless—wrote the book for “Ain’t Too Proud—The Life and Times of The Temptations,” onstage at the Ahmanson Theatre August 21 – September 30, 2018.
