As we enter an election year, many voices inside and outside the church are urging Christians to remain silent or stay on the sidelines of public life. But this approach comes with a spiritual cost and is essentially an admission that (1) Scripture has little to nothing to say about the God-ordained institution of government and (2) Christians have no role outside the four walls of the church. In her recent book The Spiritual Price of Political Silence, Christy Chavers Stutzman outlines the role of Judeo-Christian principles and the church in U.S. history; explains why Christians should be engaged in public life; and sets out a practical roadmap for Christians to get involved at the local, state, and national levels.
Christy Chavers Stutzman has been a teacher, a small business owner, a State Representative, an author and a music composer, all while being actively engaged in political campaigns and conservative advocacy groups for the past twenty years. As the wife of a member of the US Congress, she traveled widely on diplomatic delegations and has been a long time advocate for pro-life, pro-family causes. She brings practical insight and experience from all levels of government to help you be better engaged, informed and involved.
