About 38 million Americans have diabetes - that’s about 1 in 10 - and approximately 90-95% of them have type 2 diabetes.

Let me preface this by saying that Type 2 diabetes is a medical condition that certainly requires working closely with your doctor and even a registered dietitian to prescribe a good plan of action for you. However, there are some basic principles with nutrition that you can safely follow that have been shown to improve blood sugar markers and improve insulin sensitivity.
