みなさんこんにちは、かなこです！今日のシャドーイングは「～ている」です。

Hi everyone, it’s Kanako. Today’s shadowing is to describe the action in progress using “～ている”. This is one of the forms, we use very often so I made one for practicing the casual form of “～ている”.

“～ている” is the casual form of present continuous, however, most of the time “い” is dropped and it is pronounced as “～てる”. Also, it is common to drop particle “を” in the casual form.

I’m watching TV.  テレビ見てる。

I’m taking a picture.　写真とってる。

I’m driving.　運転してる。

I’m reading a book. 本読んでる。

I’m studying Japanese. 日本語勉強してる。

I’m studying at a coffee shop.　スタバで 勉強してる。

I’m waiting for my friend at the station.　駅で 友達 待ってる。

I’m playing a video game. ゲーム してる。

I’m having lunch at home.  うちで昼ごはん 食べてる。

I’m making dinner.　晩ごはん 作ってる。

I’m drinking at a bar with my friend.　バーで友達と飲んでる。
