40 Going On 14

It's time for some Michael Meyers! Yeahhhh BAYBAY! (wait, what?) I think I watched the wrong movies. This week it's the Halloween show! Not the holiday, but we'll get to that show eventually, this time it's the 1978 John Carpenter movie versus the 2007 Rob Zombie remake! Which Meyers comes out on top? Well, you'll have to listen to find out!

OctoBoo is upon us! In this first week of the most wonderful time of the year, we're enjoying a little 'Hocus Pocus'. The Sanderson Sisters have cast a spell over the hearts and minds of millions. Played by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy, they're gleefully evil but a tad bit ignorant.

After years of waiting, Disney finally made a sequel to this Halloween classic. Mike, Pat, Joel and Josh are hopping on their respective brooms and heading into the night to discuss if it was worth the wait.

Is there still magic in that old vacuum cleaner? Will Billy be back? Why Walgreens and no CVS? This OctoBoo is off to a scary start with these witchy women. Toss all that in, along with questions like "Who remembers "Weak" by SWV? (I've watched the vid, and still have no recollection of this - Mike) Does "Tanga" by Prudencio Mario Bauzá Cárdenas make you want to dance? (Yes.) and what the heck was "Weinerville"?

These two films couldn't be more different and we'll tell you why. Not too mention revealing our favorite hits of the King. From the 1979 made for TV Elvis!, directed by John Carpenter and starring Kurt Russell as the titular King of Rock & Roll, to the 2022 Baz Luhrman Austin Butler version told through the eyes of Colonel Tom Parker (played by Tom Hanks). So we got more Elvis than we know what to do with this week! Are you ready for some fantastic music and killer hair? The '40 Going On 14' boys are ready to rock, even though Elvis has left the building.

Revenge is a dish best served cold or with a side of mushrooms. Listener Nikki suggested we talk about the 1999 teen classic, 'Cruel Intentions' and compare it to the brand new release from Netflix, 'Do Revenge'. We're coming out from hiding under the table, as the spiders are finally going away, to discuss these rich kid revenge stories.  We couldn't say no when we realized that Sarah Michelle Gellar couldn't say no and was in both projects. Somebody is going to pay for the things we say in this show. Let's just hope that we don't end up the same way as Sebastian and try and stop a speeding car with our face.

Only after this can you achieve your real-boyness. At least that's what the blue fairy told us. However, we think she may be just be wanting to sell us an extended car warranty.

Once upon a time there was a corner. In that corner was Johnny Castle. Why was Johnny in that corner? Because nobody puts Baby Houseman there!
