みなさんこんにちは、かなこです！今日のシャドーイングは「～ている」です。今回のPodcastは、マイケルさんの提供でお送りします。

Hi everyone, it’s Kanako. Today’s shadowing is “describing the activities that last for some time using “～ている”. In the previous lesson, we practiced the polite form “～ています”, but this time we will practice the casual form “～ている”. In the casual form, it’s common to drop “い” and it’s pronounced as “～てる”.

For instance, if you were to say “I work at a post office”, it will be like this “郵便局(ゆうびんきょく)で 働(はたら)いてる”.

My friend lives in Germany.　友達は ドイツに 住んでる。

I work for a Canadian company.　カナダの会社に 勤めてる。

I’ve been studying Japanese.　日本語 勉強してる。

I’m wearing a T-shirt.  Tシャツ 着てる。

I’m wearing boots.  ブーツ はいてる。

I’m wearing glasses.　めがね かけてる。

I’m wearing a hat.　ぼうし かぶってる。

Do you have an umbrella?　かさ 持ってる？

I have an umbrella.　かさ 持ってる。

I don’t have an umbrella.　かさ 持ってない。
