Sam and Dean stumble across a series of books called Supernatural that detail many of their past hunts. The author is a lonely recluse who had no idea his characters were real. Unsure if he is controlling their lives, they find out that Lilith is about to be in town. Sam thinks this is the perfect time to strike while Dean wants to run.

We have to wonder if anyone dealt with the spirit that Sam and Dean were originally investigating, the best ways to make a better Devil's Trap, and how it's never good when Jess gets attached to a character.
