TikTok was banned in America by the Biden administration, but on the eve of his inauguration Donald Trump has reverse this decision, reinstating the social media app early this morning.

Technology Expert Trevor Long told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, "It's hilarious to me when anyone says, oh, I wouldn't go on TikTok it's owned by the Chinese, I don't want them having my data."

"But you're okay with Google knowing way more than Chinese know about you and Facebook and yes, they're American companies, but who cares?"

"They're a company that is monetizing your data, they own more about you than anyone could ever believe," Trevor Long said.

The fragile ceasefire between Israel and Hamas has finally taken effect almost three hours later than planned due to  Hamas failing to provide a list of hostages set for release.

It prompted Israel to continue its military operations until the names were confirmed.

9News Senior Reporter Jess Milward told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, "It cost lives, this delay this morning."

"Israel continued to bombard the strip with airstrikes and several people did die."

"You get the sense here that people keep saying to me, I'll believe it when I see it and this morning, it was agony," Milward said.

Severe storms have struck Queensland over the previous few days, and as an unfortunate consequence, the grapes on the granite belt have taken a hit.

Robert Fenwick from Heritage Estate Wines told Dean Miller on 4BC Summer Breakfast, "we got hit by a hailstorm on two of our vineyards, sadly we lost all of the grapes from one of the vineyards."

"You hope right up to the very last minute that it's not going to hit you," Fenwick continued.

Luckily Heritage Wine Estate has plenty of other stock and their doors will remain open to visitors.

Israel and Hamas have agreed to a ceasefire and hostage release deal pausing a devastating 15-month war in the Gaza Strip.

Neil Fergus, CEO of Intelligent Risks, told Dean Miller on 4BC Summer Breakfast, "It's incredibly promising, and hopefully, by Sunday, we may see the first tranche of the surviving hostages released."

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer is planning to introduce artificial intelligence to the public sector to boost efficiency.

The change would cover everything from education to detecting potholes on the road.

AAP technology writer Jennifer Dudley-Nicholson told Dean Miller on 4BC Summer Breakfast, "They're not talking about replacing jobs immediately; but making them more efficient."

"Putting it in the public service is interesting, you'd hope that there is a lot of human oversight and it's not making 'robodebt-like' decisions," Dudley-Nicholson continued.
