A new report has suggested the 85-year-old Story Bridge is in such a bad state that the Brisbane City may need to implement tolls to raise revenue to fix it.

The situation is so dire that if we do not act now there may be no Story Bridge when the 2032 Olympics arrive.

When asked about the possibility of a usage toll, Brisbane Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, "It is a 100% no from Council, because we don't even have the power to introduce a toll, we don't have the legislative authority to introduce a toll."

"That decision would have to be made at the state government level, so from me, it's a no."

"But ultimately, if the other levels of government don't step up, that may be the only option left on the table," The Lord Mayor continued.

David Littleproud has held onto the Nationals leadership after Matt Canavan challenged him for the top job.

The new look team includes the Member for Page Kevin Hogan taking over as Deputy Leader while Bridget McKenzie returns as the party's leader in the Senate. 

Nationals Leader David Littleproud told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, "We've got a culture in our party room that after every election, whether you win, lose or draw, we spill all the leadership positions and we have no issues about people putting their hands up and putting their name forward."

The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo will be marching into Brisbane in 2026 and it will be exclusive to Lang Park.

For the first time since 2019, the global spectacular will return to Australia to mark its 75th anniversary.

Suncorp Stadium General Manager Alan Graham told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, "It's got a worldwide following, so there'll be people coming internationally as well, but I think with us being the only city that's going to host this particular tour [it] means that we will get a lot of visitation from fans across Australia."

Today is Do It For Dolly Day, a powerful national day that calls on all Aussies to wear blue, spread kindness, and stand up against bullying.

The day honours Dolly Everett, a kind and creative 14-year-old girl, who tragically took her own life in 2018 after relentless bullying both in person and online.

The Head of Dolly's Dream Sally Sweeney told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, "Be kind."

"It's as simple as that."

"We know if you start with kindness, such a simple concept, it's not going to lead to bullying and one kind word can change the outcome of someone's day."

"You could, if being that upstander and stepping in for a young person who's being bullied and honestly change the trajectory of their life, so be kind," Mrs Sweeney said.
