Lachlan Stuart is raising money for the Mental Awareness Foundation by running a marathon a day in every state in America.

That's 58 marathons in 58 days.

Lachlan Stuart told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, "I've never regretted getting out there and getting it done."

"After every run that I've completed, I feel very satisfied and it's the same day time, it feels like Groundhog Day," Mr Stuart continued.

Bus drivers in Brisbane have returned to work after taking industrial action early this morning as their pay dispute with the Brisbane City Council rages on.

The RTBU wants 9 per cent over 2 years, the Council is offering 7 per cent across the same period.

Brisbane Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, "Our wages bill in council makes up about a third of all of the entire council budget, so you have a significant increase in pay that flows onto rates."

"There's no other magic," Lord Mayor Schrinner said.

Clive Palmer's United Australia Party has been de-registered, but that hasn't stopped the billionaire from returning to politics.

His new party, 'Trumpet of Patriots' will adopt many of Donald Trump's policies.

Clive Palmer told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, "We'll do what's necessary to protect and defend the Australian people."

"The most important thing is to have freedom of speech in our country to protect the freedoms that have been fought for in two world wars."

"We can't let those things go," Mr. Palmer said.

The long-awaited findings from the Crime and Corruption Commission's investigations into former treasurer Jackie Trad and former Public Trustee Peter Carne have been tabled in Queensland Parliament after being kept secret for several years at a cost of more than $300,000 to taxpayers.

With the rising cost of living on everyone's minds, some have resorted to extreme measures to cut costs.

'Dumpster diving' is a growing trend, with some people claiming they haven't spent money on groceries in four years.

Dumpster Diver and advocate Sahar Khalili told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, "I did this dumpster diving because I come from a background where being the eldest child, I got to eat everything."

"I'd end up finishing my plate and then finish my sister's plate," she said.

Brisbane bus drivers plan to strike from 4am to 6am on Thursday February 20 as a part of their ongoing pay dispute with the Brisbane City Council.

Rail Tram and Bus Union Secretary Tom Brown told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, "I'm happy to meet in the middle during negotiations."

"The sticking point, the point of anger for our drivers, is that the pay rise is not being backdated."

"It should have come through in October last year and they're not offering to backdate it until then," Mr. Brown said.

The RBA board has officially cut the cash rate by 25 basis points to 4.10 per cent.
