The Clean Energy Council has conduct a survey that shows close to 70 per cent of Australians support the need to build more renewable energy projects.
CEC Spokesperson Chris O’Keefe told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, "Our industry is building solar farms, wind farms, batteries backed up by gas."
"That's what we're doing and we're creating billions of dollars of investment and 40,000 jobs in the next five years."
"We're talking about an industry that stands on its own two feet and can not just coexist, but partner with existing industries," Chris O'Keefe said.
"Coal fired power stations are old, and they need to be replaced."
"They're not going to be replaced by new coal fired power stations because there is no proposal, nor is there any money behind it to build new coal fired power," he continued.
