The man who allegedly hit a Brisbane bus driver faced court yesterday and was granted bail.

The Rail, Tram and Bus Union are furious and deeply concerned by the alleged assault.

The RTBU President, Tom Brown labelled the incident as 'outrageous.'

A recent study of 350 local grass roots sport umpires found that 1 in 5 had been abused.

On Thursday and Friday last week, members of the CFMEU went on strike in protest of the High Court's endorsement of continuing the union's forced administration.

Deputy Premier and Industrial Relations Minister Jarrod Bleijie told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, "This is just repeated behaviour, the CFMEU is not new".

The RACQ is calling on the Government to implement tougher laws on E-scooters that will go as far as to confiscating illegal ones.

RACQ Head of Public Policy Dr Michael Kane told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, "We see two people a day on average being taken to our emergency departments from e-scooter crashes."

"In the last two and a half years we've seen 15 people die and these numbers are getting worse."

"So, it's time now to crack down on these illegal devices because if we don't do it now, the problem is going to get worse and worse," Dr Kane said.

Many CFMEU members walked off the job yesterday with members protesting after they lost their final bid to win back control of their Union from administrators.

Peter Fegan said on 4BC Breakfast that the protests prove the CFMEU are "a law unto themselves" and that even if the government takes control of the union legally, it doesn't mean they actually have control.
