The Crisafulli Government is set to reinstate the Bruce Highway Advisory Council by the end of this year in its bid to provide a long-term plan for the road.

The Transport Minister Brent Micklberg told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, 'this will be a promise made and a promise kept.'

Micklberg went on to say the advisory council will be led by Queenslanders rather than government bureaucrats.

He said, 'We want to see is people from a broad cross-section of our communities right up and down the coast.

The Bruce obviously needs a considerable amount of work, but we're going to need to prioritise those areas that are going to have the greatest bang for our buck.'

Micklberg also mentioned that he will continue to push for 80-20 funding from the Federal Government.

Peter Dutton has declared that he will join the Greens in an attempt to block the  Federal Government's plan to put a cap on international students.

Senator Jane Hume told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, 'we actually think international students caps are a good idea, but the legislation that the government has put forward, we think could actually make the problem worse.'

'If you put caps on one part of the system, then problems will just pop up in another, because the system itself is chaotic and confused,' she said.

Methanol is used in developing countries to maximise profits by cutting or mixing drinking alcohol with cheap alternatives.
