The Insurance Council of Australia has unveiled the industry’s policy recommendations for the next Federal Government.

The centrepiece of the policy document is called 'Advancing Australia’s Resilience', which is a Flood Defence Fund, a $30.15 billion investment over 10 years to protect Australia's most at-risk catchments in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.

ICA CEO Andrew Hall told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, "The problem with flood insurance in Australia and around the world, we're not the only jurisdiction that faces this challenge."

Security cameras have captured a woman casually approach a flag pole outside Maggie Forrest's office in Ryan and pull down and steal the Australian flag that was proudly flying.

Beloved fish and chip shop, the Happy Fryer in Daisy Hill has been hit by vandals for the third time in 18 months.

Vandals shattered glass, destroyed equipment, and in a truly senseless act, killed their pet fish, causing around $30,000 damage.

One of the Happy Fryer owners, Trevor Hayes told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, "It was vandalism for vandalism sake. Every window, every piece of glass in the place, right down to our pet fish tank was destroyed."

The Queensland Police Service has announced that they will provide every frontline officer with a personal tourniquet following an incident that occurred earlier this year.

Police Minister Dan Purdie told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, "Frontline police officers face different risks every day... it's about making sure our police have what they need to keep themselves and their colleagues and the community safe."

The Government's 100-Day Review is set to be handed down in the first week of March and it will determine where the Olympic stadium should be built.

Early rumours are suggesting that the preferred option is for a new stadium at Victoria Park.

9News Political Editor Tim Arvier told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, "The Ashes test in Brisbane is here in December this year, so the stadium couldn't be knocked down before then."

"Because the Gabba is such a constrained site, many people are saying it could take longer than that to actually build the Gabba Stadium," Mr. Arvier said.

Labor's flagship housing fund has fallen flat on its face with not a single home being completed under the ‘Housing Australia Future Fund’.

The flagship scheme was legislated almost 18 months ago with the Prime Minister saying in 2021 that 30,000 new homes would be built over the next five years, but so far, funding has only been agreed on for 800 homes.

Shadow Minister for Home Ownership Andrew Bragg told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, "The government's had three years to build a house and they haven't built a single one so far under this program."
