The Coalition split has sent shockwaves through politics in Australia. 

Senator Gerard Rennick was elected as a member of the Liberal National Party of Queensland and sat with the Liberal Party in parliament until resigning from the party in August 2024 to form the People First Party.

Seantor Rennick told Bill McDonald on 4BC Mornings, "I don't see it playing out very well, actually, for a number of reasons."

"The Liberals and Nationals are still working together at the state level, both in Queensland and in New South Wales, so it's going to be very difficult to have a proper split if the state parties are still joined at the hip."

NSW State of Origin great, Paul Gallen has failed to attend a press conference ahead of his fight with Sonny Bill Williams.

Paul Gallen told Bill McDonald on 4BC Mornings, "Sonny Bill wasted my time for a long, long time trying to make this fight happen... So I'm thinking there's no point in me turning up at the press conference."

"He's a big enough star to handle it all, so I just left it in his capable hands."
