5 Minute Bible Study: Find out we aren't as bad as we think because God is better than we know.

This I can completely relate to. Over and over and over again. But He said no to Jesus too...to Joseph...even though they were the right things. It was just the wrong time. The hardest part in that is to move on, obey and trust that, if it is the right thing, God will make it happen at the right time. Trusting has to be the hardest thing to do as a Christian.

Yeah so this is me. My life did not go the direction I was hoping or that I had planned. When I was a kid I wouldn't have said that I wanted to marry someone mentally/emotionally abusive, get divorced as my husband goes to jail, be a single mom, get married for a second time, be a stepmom to three kids...have major depression...

I could say more, but these were not my childhood dreams. Not the route I would have chosen. But I guess after reading this...you never know what God is protecting us from by taking us a different way.

I find this reassuring. God doesn't need big, glamourous, attractive, popular places or people. Thank goodness. Because I am none of those things. Not even close. But there is no pressure to have to become that in order to become usable for God. 

Well, here is a beautiful section for stepparents. Being one myself, this caught my attention a couple of Christmases ago but when I read this on my own, it all came flooding back. There are three solid points in these seven verses. 

One: for people who are afraid of what others think of them

Two: for all the stepparents or those feeling on the outside

Three: for any of us because I think we all want to make sure our rights aren't impinged.

Hey everybody! Here is day one of the 5 Minute Bible Study. This podcast is based on my One Minute Bible Study on Instagram and Tiktok (@my.unphotoshopped.life). Requests have come in that I do a 5 minute version so that I can slow down and elaborate more, which I thought was a great idea.

I am educated as a massage therapist and have been working in that field for over 20 years BUT I'm also an uneducated Christian with no professional theology training whatsoever. You will hear my "why" in this episode...the story that made me go down this road. But to give you a tidbit "why", it is because God said that the Bible was enough for us to know him and I want to see if that is true! The other reason is that I have a very messed up view of God and there was a point where I got tired of it and decided it was time to find out what He's like and if I'm good with it.
