In this week's episode, Ryan and Derick run another duo session where they talk about  shows (mostly anime) they've watched recently and shows (also, mostly anime) they're looking forward to watching in the immediate to near future. Derick lists some of his recent favorites, complete with ratings(!), including Season 3 of KonoSuba, More than a Married Couple, but not Lovers, and A Lull in the Sea. Ryan sings the praises of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End and explains why its a "special" show, and Derick reveals the most pick-uppable characters from the anime he's watched recently and the "scientific process" behind his choices. The guys end the episode by looking ahead and naming some shows they're looking forward to watching and catching up on, which includes bangers like The Bear season 3,  Demon Slayer season 5, The Boys season 4, and Oshi no Ko season 2.

Hello and welcome back to another sweaty episode of the 5 O'Clock Sweats Podcast!

In this week's episode, The Sweats go around and share what they have been up to recently. Chris and Ryan react to some of the games shown during the Xbox showcase, including Black Ops 6 and Gears of War: E-Day. Derick shares that he's  starting to rediscover his inner gamer by playing some Stardew Valley and foreshadows his impending Hades II grind on his handy dandy Steam Deck. Ryan talks about some movies and shows he's watched, including Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, Frieren: Beyond Journey''s End and Dragon Ball Z" Abridged. The guys also reflect on old Circuit City stores and whether they were shaped liked power plugs (while using google image search to confirm their suspicions). The episode concludes with Chris and Ryan talking about their SBMM-free experience playing XDefiant and Derick venting about the miserable driving mechanics in F1 24.

Some gems such as The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Johnny English Reborn, and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes are shown some love as well. Hello and welcome back to another sweaty episode of the 5 O'Clock Sweats Podcast!

In this week's episode, Ryan and Chris discuss which of their favorite sports games is better: MLB The Show or Madden. The guys go through a list of pros and cons for each game over a variety of categories such as graphics,  presentation, fun factor and overall gameplay. To lead off, the Sweats go over the negatives and positives of The Show, which include graphics that haven't improved since 2010, the euphoric feeling of crushing a home run, the GOD AWFUL "fan cam" feature, the feeling of never being out of a game, and a game-breaking bug that causes the game to freeze at any point. For Madden, Ryan and Chris give the game credit for improved graphics and animations over the years, but criticize the awkward player and coaching models like Mike McCarthy, who is shaped like a bobble head. The guys also get into which game's co-op feature is better, as they praise MLB the Show's rotating batter and pitcher/fielding system and the freedom Madden gives you improvise routes and connect for a clutch TD. In this week's episode, Ryan and Derick discuss the tragic passing of Akira Toriyama and the impact Dragon Ball has had on their lives as an anime and cultural phenomenon. The guys look back on some of their favorite Dragon Ball-related memories, such as Ryan recreating Dragon Ball battles with his childhood action figures (sound effects and all) and Derick proudly reflecting back on a drawing he did of Gohan as a kid. The Sweats then go back and forth naming some of their favorite moments from the Dragon Ball anime, including Goku's iconic first Super Saiyan transformation, That time Majin Buu turned Chi-Chi into an egg, and Gohan's emotional father-son Kamehameha to defeat Cell. Hello and welcome back to another sweaty episode of the 5 O'Clock Sweats Podcast!

In this week's episode, Ryan and Chris take the reins in their first ever duo episode to gush over something that is near and dear to their hearts: the beautiful sport of baseball! With Opening Day just a little over two weeks away, the guys take turns sharing their first exposure to the sport, their experience playing it as kids and how it exists in their lives now, which includes launching bombs against opponents in MLB the Show. Chris recalls the time someone told him there's no crying in baseball and Ryan reveals the time he almost cried playing little league. The two also share the time Ryan suddenly forgot how to throw a baseball.  

The Sweats end the episode by giving a quick outlook on the Phillies and Mets along with some other MLB storylines heading into the 2024 season while also sharing what they're looking forward to this week in their "Off the Clock" segment.
